School Uniform Policy
WHAT SCHOOL UNIFORM WILL MY CHILD NEED?
Following a large number of parental requests, a school uniform was established in 1995. Our uniform policy was reviewed and revised by parents and governors in May 2007.
Pupils are requested to wear school uniform as follows:
Boys
White or gold polo shirt
Royal blue sweatshirt or fleece
Black, grey or navy trousers
Black, grey or navy shorts
Girls
White or gold polo shirt
Royal blue sweatshirt / fleece / cardigan
Black, grey or navy trousers
Grey or navy skirt or pinafore dress
Blue and white checked/striped dress
Black, grey or navy shorts
Footwear for boys and girls should be flat and well fitting. There are steps and slopes in school which makes the wearing of heels or casual ‘flip-flop’ or ‘slipper’ styles dangerous. If pupils come to school in boots or Wellingtons in bad weather they should either bring a change of indoor shoes, or wear their plimsolls indoors.
No jewellery is to be worn in school, except ear studs and watches (unless it forms part of a religious custom, and then by prior agreement with the Headteacher)
In PE lessons pupils are requested to wear the following (boys and girls)
White, round necked T-shirt
Royal blue shorts
Bare feet for gymnastics
Black plimsolls for indoor work
Training shoes for outdoor PE
Warm clothing (track suit or similar) for outdoor winter sports
Ear studs and watches
must be removed
by the child
during swimming and PE lessons. This is for reasons of health and safety. We comply with guidelines agreed with the Local Authority. Teachers cannot take responsibility for the safety of items of jewellery that are removed.
Children must change into PE kit for all PE lessons, and back into school uniform when the PE lesson is over.
All clothing should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
