School Uniform Policy
Where possible, pupils are requested to wear the school-preferred clothing. Most parents find it practical, economical and it avoids fashion competition.
Boys:
Girls:
-
Red school sweatshirt/sweat cardigan
-
White short sleeve polo shirt or button through blouse
-
White socks, (white, red or grey tights in cold weather)
-
Mid-grey skirt, dress or culottes; trousers in the same style and material as the boys.
-
Red/white checked or striped dress for the summer.
Footwear: Shoes or sandals, which give support - not heavy boots, trainers, plimsolls or shoes with ‘high heels’
School Design Clothing
A Fleece jacket, hats
and sweatshirts/sweat cardigans, including a reversible fleece for outdoor wear, are available to purchase or order from the school office.
PE Kit
It is more convenient if this kit is kept in a named bag.
All items of clothing should be marked with the pupil’s name.
Games
Track suit, if possible, for outdoor winter activities. Footwear, other than plimsolls, for use on the field ie trainers or football boots.
Craft/Artwork - An apron/shirt is usually adequate protection for clothing when pupils use Art/Craft materials.
Jewellery
Parents are encouraged not to give permission for their child to have any form of body piercing. However if they do give permission for ear lobes to be pierced then:
- Piercing should be carried out so that the wound is healed when the child attends school.
- Small studs – not rings may be worn. The studs are to be removed by the child when requested to do so for sport, swimming or any other activity on the grounds of Health and Safety.
- Parents accept full liability for the wearing of studs, their loss and the potential damage to their own child.
Other body piercing is seen to be unnecessary and generally unacceptable on the grounds of Health and Safety for pupils.
There will be sample sizes available from the office.
