You can buy your child’s uniform knowing that the items have been carefully selected for quality, competitive price and good wear. Please Note: To ensure you purchase the correct size for your children there are samples available for trying on in the school office on the first Monday of each month at 3pm.

Uniform Policy at Polesden Lacey Infant school

It is our policy that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with a purposeful learning ethos. We have chosen a school uniform that:

• promotes a sense of pride in the school
• engenders a feeling of community and belonging
• is practical and smart
• identifies the children with the school
• is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be)
• makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
• is regarded as suitable, and good value for money, by most parents
• has been designed with health and safety in mind.

Surrey County Council has stated that the wearing of jewellery, earrings, etc, should not be permitted during PE lessons as they present a potentially serious hazard. Therefore children will not be permitted to join PE lessons wearing earrings (including studs) or other jewellery. If your child wears earrings at school, please make sure that he/she can remove and replace them without help. It would of course be much simpler if earrings were not worn in school time.

• No trainers, open-toed sandals or shoes with heels are to be worn in school.
• Long hair should always be tied back for reasons of Health & Safety.
• A coat should be brought to school each day as even sunny days can turn chilly or damp during the playtime and lunchtime periods.
• An apron for painting and a book bag will be provided by the school.

ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME -  INCLUDING BAGS AND UNDERWEAR!
