School Uniform Policy
The Governors and staff actively encourage the wearing of school uniform. We believe a uniform contributes to a feeling of belonging to the school. It encourages the habit of wearing appropriate clothes for appropriate places as children coming to school dressed in school uniform look as if they are coming to school to work.
It consists of:
-
-
-
-
-
-
Blue check or striped
dresses for the Summer.
-
PE Kit
-
-
-
Plimsoles / trainers/football boots (for football/rugby club)
-
Named P.E.
bag (a named plastic carrier is fine).
It is essential that a full PE kit is brought to school in a clearly named dap bag at the start of term and remains in school until the end of that term. Your child will be asked to either wear a kit from school or make a phone call home for PE kit to be brought to school if it is not here for P.E. or games lessons, these calls are charged at 20p. Full PE kit is also required for any extra curricular sporting activity.
A pair of boots/substantial trainers will be needed by those children taking part in field games (e.g. football, rugby). Please check with your child's teacher before going to the expense of buying a pair of "studs". Furthermore, a tracksuit or equivalent is a sensible addition for outdoor games in the winter months. Swimming trunks/costume and towel will be required by all children for swimming lessons at some point during the year.
Please make sure that all clothing is clearly labelled with your child's name and please note that the following are not permitted at school: jeans, brightly coloured 'Bermuda' style shorts, 'fashion', 'beach' or 'party' wear and hooded tops worn as school jumpers.
Jewellery is not allowed in school. Such items are easily lost and can be a danger to the wearer and others in the playground and during PE lessons. Therefore, stud or sleeper earrings are the only type permitted at school. Hooped earrings are particularly a potential injury hazard. Unfortunately if any jewellery is lost we will not be able to replace it or refund any money! Watches clearly labelled with your child's name are permitted, but are brought to school at the child's own risk.
